Thanks to y0nd13 -> http://y0nd13.blogspot.com where his blogpost giving me the idea to create this installer. So, credit to him. And this installer and the code use is made by me except for wpa_supplicant, gctwimax and the patch. Credit to the developer who made that.

TERMS AND CONDITION

I create this as free software but the source code is proprietary. So don`t ask for the source code. If you really need it, just do some reverse engineering and you might get it. I have contact Yes 4G about this installer and none of them respond to me. Then i my self will be releasing this application. You are free to distribute this application to others.

HOW TO

To install this, you need to run as super user. Navigate your terminal to this readme folder.

$ cd YOUR/PATH/TO/Yes\ Installer\ x86/ OR cd YOUR/PATH/TO/Yes\ Installer\ x64/
$ sudo ./install
[sudo] password for $USERNAME:

Then the installation will begin. Please connect to the internet before you proceed. After the installation is finished, you can connect to the internet using Yes Go using this command in terminal.

$ sudo connect4g start
[sudo] password for $USERNAME

Then you can connect with your Yes ID and Password. You can always close your terminal after the connection has established as it runs as background process. To disconnect from Yes, simply type:

  3. Great job dude. It’s a shame for them actually…didn’t want to take this chance to cater what might be a potential customers from the open source market. Keep up the good work :-D

    Well done with this! It works. Just some corrections:
    1) the YES ID should indicate if we need to include the “@yes.my” part – because the Connect utility in Windows needs it. Otherwise strip it from the input.
    2) Slight misspelling in “Error conneting:”
    3) Any means of saving the login/password in a .dot file?

    Thanks very much for this!

    yk

    • 1. You don`t need to write @yes.my because i have hard coded it.
      2. Ouch.. thanks for the spelling error. But i think it is just the spelling. I will release next Connect with GUI.
      3. Maybe in GUI version

      thanks for reporting

    Wonderful work! I would like to be informed if you do come up with a hack for connecting the Android OS in a tablet with the YES4g USB dongle. Currently only the 3G Huawei modem’s hack had been created. Thanks!

  19. Sorry, I’m now connected and I don’t even know what I did. Thanks, Ahmad Fikrizaman! God bless you indeed!

  20. Amir says: - reply

    salam bro.

    i do understand that you did a wrapper script for this so that the installation would be simpler, plus you got that fikri.my free promotion there, which is damn clever. ;)

    hopefully you could publish the raw way you did the ‘make’, ‘make install’ from the gctwimax source code, so that all of us could benefit from it, and maybe we too could give some ideas to optimize stuffs.

    plus, i did get the same error while running your install script:-
    cp: cannot stat `/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/dbus-1.0/include/dbus/dbus-arch-deps.h’: No such file or directory

    i did tried your workaround:-
    sudo ln -s /usr/lib/dbus-1.0/include/dbus/dbus-arch-deps.h /usr/include/dbus-1.0/dbus/

    …which then i checked that i don’t have that file in that path:-
    $ ls /usr/lib/dbus-1.0/include/dbus/dbus-arch-deps.h
    ls: cannot access /usr/lib/dbus-1.0/include/dbus/dbus-arch-deps.h: No such file or directory

    thus, i believe that those files only available in your ubuntu box, not others generally.

    i am using:-
    $ cat /etc/*release
    DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
    DISTRIB_RELEASE=10.04
    DISTRIB_CODENAME=lucid
    DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION=”Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS”

  21. Amir says: - reply

    just an update on my findings: i still unable to install the yes 4g using your install script.

    i am getting these:-

    $ sudo ./install
    #############################################################
    # YES Ubuntu Installer and Connect By Fikri[dot]my #
    # Please wait a few seconds for initializing #
    #############################################################

    * Internet connected. Continue to install..
    * Updating package and installing dependency..
    * Done. Wait for 5 seconds before continue..
    * Decompressing required library..
    * Decompressed, Patching..
    * Done patching. Making file…
    * Done installing wpa_supplicant.
    * Installing YES Driver…
    cp: cannot stat `./gctwimax’: No such file or directory
    make: *** [install] Error 1
    * Done ALL!!

    ## end of code ##

    seriously dude, why don’t you share your binary-encrypted shell script? make it non-binary, please.

    i’ve been trying to fix this since the last 4 hours. i can tell that on the background there the install script is compiling the gctwimax code, but then your install script assumes everything is correctly compiled, thus you just simply run that ./gctwimax without any checking. that is why i am getting that error.

    i did tried to compile the gctwimax source codes, and i am getting the same.
